VENDOR SPACES AND REGISTRATION

Vendor spaces are sometimes difficult to come by. Once a person becomes a registered vendor with space(s), they have the right to these spaces indefinitely as long as they abide by the rules and regulations and they register and pay the fees annually. The only spaces that become available are those that are vacated by an existing vendor, or if the Club is able to create new spaces.

To obtain a space for NEXT YEARS SWAP MEET, there are several ways to get on the waiting list. The best way is to be at the Swap Meet Information Booth at 7 AM Saturday morning, the first day of the Swap Meet, and sign up on the Waiting List. You may also call our voice mail at (209) 571-1232. Be sure to give us your name, address and telephone number, along with a request for space(s).

Available spaces are assigned on a first come, first served basis. The waiting list is destroyed on the eve of the Swap Meet, and a new sign up sheet starts on the first day of the new Swap Meet.

SPACE SIZE AND PRICE

All outside spaces are $50, and inside buildings spaces are $85

Spaces in Zone One are generally 12’ X 20’, and Zone Two are approximately 12’ X 40’

FRIDAY STAGING

Beginning Friday, the day before the Swap Meet, Vendors arriving early must proceed to the staging area located in the Polo Field off Soderquist Ave. (opposite the fairgrounds). There you will be segregated according to your space area, and lined up on a first come, first served basis. Be sure to affix your registration card in the lower left hand corner of the windshield. Approximately 1 PM, Vendors occupying buildings will be allowed to enter, and at 3 PM all remaining vendors and Cars For Sale will be allowed on their spaces. Buildings will close at 6 PM.

DO NOT PARK ON FULKERTH OR NEAR ANY GATE TO WAIT FOR THE GATES TO OPEN. POLICE WILL TICKET ANYONE DOING SO. YOU MUST GO TO THE STAGING AREA

SECURITY is provided beginning Friday 3 PM through Sunday 3 PM. However, the area is extremely large and we can assume no liability for your property. We suggest you secure it when you leave your area. It is your responsibility to protect and/or insure your property. Swap Meet organizers will not be held responsible. Please read and sign release on application.

Vendors will be given two gate passes that will allow you to leave the grounds and re-enter during hours of operation. These passes are in the form of plastic wrist bands, and must be fastened around your wrist. Hand carried or damaged bands will not be honored.

VENDOR RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Antique and/or classic cars, automotive parts and related items only.

2. There will be a $25.00 charge for all returned checks. Failure to comply will result in loss of space.

3. You may obtain a refund for your space only if your space card is returned to the Modesto Area A’s by January 8, 2009.

4. Registration card must be affixed to the lower left hand corner of the windshield before entering the gate. If you have more than one vehicle to put on your space, you must request a gate pass for each vehicle.

5. All vehicles, parts or other property must be within the limits of your swap space. Vehicles, trailers or RVs that won’t fit within the space must be parked in the RV parking lot off Fulkerth Road. Areas along fences are now vendor spaces. Parking there is no longer permitted.

The designated “Club Members RV lot” is for Modesto Area A’s members only. No other parking is allowed in this area.

6. Vendors selling or scalping spaces by attempting to sell their space for more than the amount charged by the Modesto Area A’s will lose the option to renew the following year. The vendor occupying the space will be given the opportunity to reserve the space for the following year.

7. No parking within 20 feet of any building.

8. Absolutely NO electrical outlets located around the Fairgrounds are to be used. No power cords will be allowed to lie across any road (Fairgrounds rule).

12. The State Board of Equalization requires that before your registration is accepted to the Turlock Swap Meet, YOU MUST COMPLETE an “Occasional Seller/Seller’s Permit Number Form”. Enclose and return this completed form with your registration form.

Since the law requires the Modesto Area A’s to conform to this regulation, we will have no choice but to deny your space reservation if you do not comply.

Sales Permits may be obtained from your local Board of Equalization office.

13. All unsold items and trash must be taken with you when you leave. Your space should be clean as when you arrived. You may forfeit you space if you leave a mess.
